POLICIES & PROCEDURES

Please read through our policies below. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who does not agree with our policies or sign our intake and consent form.

New Covid-19 Guidelines

ELECTRONIC INTAKE FORMS

New clients must complete their initial intake form prior to the 1st appointment. Existing clients must update their intake form prior to the 1st appointment since we reopened post-Covid. All clients must update their intake form any time your health history changes so we may determine if massage therapy is safe and appropriate.

APPOINTMENTS

Must be rescheduled if, in the last 10 days, you have or had any COVID-related symptoms or exposure to anyone suspected or confirmed to have COVID-19. If you have tested positive for COVID-19, your next appointment cannot be scheduled until you have tested negative.

​

FACE MASKS

Face masks are now optional for clients. Staff will wear a face mask upon request.

​

CANCELATION FEES

Will be waived for any appointments needing to be rescheduled due COVID-19 symptoms or exposure.

​

CLEANING & DISINFECTING

Products approved by the EPA and CDC will be used on all high-touch surfaces between appointments.

​

FRESHLY LAUNDERED LINENS

Will be provided to each client as always, including the set of sheets, blanket, face cradle cover, and towels. We never re-use anything that may have touched a client.

​

HAND SANITIZER

Will be available throughout the office, please help yourself upon your arrival.

​

YOUR THERAPIST

Will go through the same COVID screening as clients. As always, hands and forearms are washed immediately before and after each session.

When to reschedule

​

​

Intake Form

Upon booking your initial appointment, you will receive a confirmation email and an additional email containing an electronic intake form. You MUST complete and submit the intake form at least one day prior to your scheduled appointment. We review your intake form to determine if massage is safely indicated for you based on your health history. Your intake form guides our initial assessment to determine areas of pain and dysfunction and assists in the development of your individualized treatment plan to ensure our approach is appropriate, specific, comfortable, and useful in helping you meet your goals.

Cupping Waiver & Aftercare

Cupping Therapy uses suction to gently pull the skin and superficial muscle layers upward, rather than applying pressure. This loosens muscles and fascia, encourages blood flow, relieves pain, and sedates the nervous system. I understand that Cupping Therapy may be performed at the therapist’s discretion in a gliding manner or with cups applied in a static position. If I prefer not to receive cupping therapy, I agree to inform the therapist before or during the session. I understand that there are contraindications for Cupping Therapy, such as diabetes or taking blood thinners, and will inform the therapist of all my known medical conditions and medications and will keep the therapist updated as to any changes in my medical conditions and medications.

 

I understand that there is the possibility of discolorations that can occur from the release and clearing of lymph, cellular debris, and stagnation being drawn to the surface of the skin to be cleared away by my circulatory systems. This reaction may vary in color and should dissipate in as little as a few hours or as long as two weeks. I understand that tenderness, itching, and decreased blood pressure are possible temporary reactions to cupping therapy. I understand that Cupping Therapy modalities should not be combined with aggressive exfoliation, done within 4 hours of shaving, after sunburn, or over unhealed tattoos. I understand that I should avoid exposure to cold or hot showers and baths, saunas, hot tubs and aggressive exercise for 4-6 hours following cupping therapy.

Payment

  • We accept cash, checks, credit/debit cards, FSA/HSA cards, Apple/Google Pay, Venmo & Zelle.

​

  • NJ Sales Tax (6.625%) included in all services.

​

  • New Clients must pre-pay when booking their initial appointment online.

​

  • Same day appointments may require pre-payment.

​

  • All sales are final and non-refundable. This includes pre-paid sessions, gift cards, and retail items. Account credit does not expire.

Massage & Bodywork Waiver

Massage and bodywork therapy practices are designed to promote and maintain the health and well-being of the client, but do not include the diagnosis of illness, disease, impairment or disability. If I experience any pain or discomfort during this session, I will immediately inform the therapist so that the pressure and/or manipulations may be adjusted to my level of comfort. Because massage and bodywork therapy may be contraindicated due to certain medical conditions or medications, I affirm that I have informed the therapist of all my known medical conditions and medications and will keep the therapist updated as to any changes in my medical conditions and medications.

Late Policy

Please contact us if you expect to be late (201-528-3868). We are only able to provide a 5-minute grace period after which you may experience a shortened session. You will be responsible for the full price of the scheduled session. If you are more than 15-minutes late and we have not heard from you, we will consider you a no show and send you an invoice for the full amount of the session.

Cancel/Reschedule Policy​

  • To avoid a cancellation fee, we require 24-hour notice for all cancellations and rescheduled appointments (including pre-paid sessions and those booked with gift certificates).

  • To cancel or reschedule, call or text (201-528-3868) and we will reply to confirm receipt of your message. Please do not send cancellations by e-mail.

  • You are responsible for 100% of the scheduled service if canceled within 6 hours or you miss your appointment.

  • You are responsible for 50% of the scheduled service if canceled within 24 hours.

  • Pre-paid sessions and gift cards will be decreased or forfeited accordingly and any unused portion will be added to your account for future use. The full value of your pre-paid session will be added to your account if you cancel with more than 24 hours notice.

  • All sales are final and non-refundable. This includes pre-paid sessions, gift cards, and retail items. Account credit does not expire.

  • All cancelation fees must be paid in full prior to booking your next appointment.

When to Reschedule

​You should reschedule your massage at the first signs of illness such as a fever, cold, flu, bacterial/viral/skin infection, rash, acute injury, acute medical condition, and anytime you may be contagious. Massage may worsen these systemic contraindications or spread disease.
